Fera is a good reviews app. It’s rated 4.8 stars from nearly 2,000 Shopify merchants and has been on the App Store since 2017.
The reason merchants go looking for alternatives is narrower than “Fera is bad.” It’s that Fera stopped being the cheap option and never became the complete one. There’s no free plan any more. The entry tier is $9/month and plans run to $199/month. And at every one of those tiers you’re still buying reviews, Q&A and review-request emails. No loyalty points program, no VIP tiers, no referral engine, no memberships. Those live in a second app, with a second bill.
This guide compares six alternatives on what you actually get per dollar, how hard the migration is, and whether the tool closes the retention gap or leaves it open.
Short answer: the best Fera alternatives for Shopify in 2026 are Yuko (reviews + loyalty in one app), Judge.me (unlimited reviews free), Loox (photo and video UGC), Okendo (review data depth), Stamped (reviews + loyalty in one dashboard), and Rivo (loyalty-first, generous free plan).

What Fera actually costs in 2026
This is the part most comparison posts get wrong, including our earlier version of this one. Fera’s plans are gated by review requests and monthly order volume, and there is no free tier on the current listing, only a 60-day trial.
Fera plan | Price | Review requests/mo | Orders/mo | Users | Media storage |
Startup | $9/mo | 100 | up to 200 | 2 | 100 MB |
Small | $29/mo | 1,000 | up to 2,000 | 3 | 1 GB |
Medium | $99/mo | 10,000 | up to 20,000 | 5 | 10 GB |
Semi-Large | $199/mo | 25,000 | up to 50,000 | 7 | 50 GB |
Two things follow from this table.
First, Fera’s volume allowances are generous, more generous than most apps in this comparison. A store doing 15,000 orders a month on the $99 plan is not overpaying for throughput. If someone tells you Fera is expensive purely on price, check your order volume before you believe it.
Second, the gap is scope, not throughput. Move from Startup to Semi-Large and you get more requests, more storage and more users. You do not get a loyalty program. That’s the honest case for switching.
Why merchants look for a Fera alternative
Four patterns come up consistently. Fera’s rating is 4.8 with 95% five-star, so treat these as the minority experience, not the norm.
1. No retention layer at any price
Fera can attach a reward (a discount, points or cashback) to a review request. That’s an incentive, not a loyalty program. There are no earning rules for signups, birthdays or social actions, no VIP tiers with multipliers, no referral engine, and no paid memberships. If you want repeat purchases rather than just proof, you’re adding a second app, and the two won’t share a customer record.
2. The free plan is gone
Older comparisons (ours included) referenced a Fera free plan. The current listing starts at $9/month with a 60-day trial. For a store testing reviews before committing budget, that’s a real change, and it’s the single biggest reason Judge.me’s free tier now wins these evaluations.
3. Widget styling on custom themes
A recurring note in lower-rated reviews is needing custom CSS to make Fera’s widgets sit correctly in a custom theme, and running into placement limits. If your theme is heavily customised, test this during the 60-day trial rather than after.
4. Support experience is uneven at the edges
Most recent reviews praise Fera’s support by name and describe fast replies from real people. The minority complaints cluster around setup and import problems and long chat waits. Worth knowing, not worth leading with.
Together these point at one thing: Fera is a reviews app, and a good one. The merchants who leave are the ones who’ve outgrown a reviews-only app.
How we evaluated each tool
Five criteria, applied identically to all six:
- Scope: reviews only, or reviews plus loyalty, referrals, memberships and automation.
- Value at real tiers: what you get at roughly $12, $30 and $99/month, not just the headline entry price. Order caps matter more than sticker price; several apps here cost less than Fera but cap you far lower.
- Shopify-native depth: theme app embeds, checkout UI extensions and customer account extensions. Tools built on these survive theme updates; tools built on injected script tags often don’t.
- Migration path: can you bring Fera reviews across without losing star ratings, dates or photos, and is it self-serve?
- Support and docs: response time and onboarding quality when something breaks mid-migration.
Tools are ordered by how directly they close Fera’s retention gap. The pure reviews apps sit lower because they solve a narrower problem, not because they’re weaker at reviews. Judge.me and Loox both beat us on parts of the reviews experience, and we say so below.
All 6 Fera alternatives compared
App | Best for | Free plan | Starts at | Order cap at entry tier | Main gap |
Reviews and Q&A only | 60-day trial | $9/mo | 200 | No loyalty, referrals or memberships
Reviews + loyalty + retention in one app | 50 orders/mo | $12/mo | n/a | Loyalty and referrals are Shopify-only
Unlimited reviews at zero cost | No order cap | $15/mo | Uncapped | No loyalty or referrals
Stores where customer photos sell | 7-day trial | $12.99/mo | 500 | No loyalty or VIP tiers
Brands that act on review data | 50 orders/mo | $19/mo | 200 | Klaviyo sync needs the $299 tier
Reviews + loyalty in one dashboard | From $23/mo | $23/mo | verify | Tier structure recently changed
Loyalty and referrals with no monthly bill | 200 orders/mo | $49/mo | 200 (free) | Reviews are a separate, less mature product |
The 6 best Fera alternatives for Shopify
1. Yuko: best for reviews plus full retention in one platform
Yuko Loyalty Program Rewards on the Shopify App Store

Yuko exists because of the exact problem this article describes: reviews in one app, loyalty in another, no shared customer record between them. It combines reviews, loyalty points, VIP tiers, referrals, memberships and workflow automation in a single install.
The connection is the point. A customer who leaves a photo review can earn points for it, cross into a VIP tier because of those points, and get handed a referral link: one system, one customer profile, one dashboard.
Key features
- Verified photo and text reviews with post-purchase request emails
- Loyalty points for purchases, signups, birthdays, reviews and social actions
- VIP tiers with points multipliers and tier-specific perks
- Two-sided referrals with fraud prevention
- Paid memberships with checkout validation
- Visual workflow builder for loyalty and email automation
- Theme app embed, checkout UI extension and customer account extension
- Klaviyo integration that syncs loyalty data as profile properties, included rather than gated behind a $299 tier
Pricing: Free ($0, up to 50 orders/mo) · Basic $12/mo · Advanced $30/mo · Growth $199/mo. Full pricing
What merchants praise: VIP tiers and memberships at $30/month, when comparable retention features elsewhere sit behind a much higher tier. Klaviyo-heavy stores single out the profile property sync for segmentation.
What merchants criticise: The 50-order free cap is the tightest free tier in this comparison. Judge.me, Rivo and Okendo are all more generous if you only need part of the stack. Review widget layout options are also fewer than Loox’s. And we’re a newer listing with a small review count, so you’re getting less merchant validation than you would from Judge.me’s 42,000.
Switching from Fera: You add loyalty points, VIP tiers, referrals and memberships, none of which Fera offers at any tier. Check widget parity for your theme during the trial.

2. Judge.me: best for high-volume reviews on a budget
Judge.me Product Reviews App on the Shopify App Store · 5.0 stars, 42,344 reviews, the highest-rated and most-reviewed app in this comparison.

Judge.me is one of the most-installed review apps on Shopify, and its free plan is why. No order cap, no review limit.
Now that Fera has no free tier, Judge.me is the most direct like-for-like cut in cost for a store that needs reviews and nothing else.
Key features
- Unlimited review requests on the free plan, no order cap
- Photo and video reviews
- Product-page Q&A
- Google rich snippet schema
- Review import from Fera, Yotpo, Loox and CSV
- Klaviyo, Omnisend and Drip integrations
- Carousel, badge and sidebar widgets
Pricing :Free ($0): unlimited orders and review requests, photo reviews, basic widgets. Awesome ($15/mo): video reviews, Google Shopping, cross-shop syndication, custom forms. Confirm the paid tier price on the listing; it’s the one figure here we couldn’t verify directly.
What merchants praise: How much is included at $0. Merchants arriving from paid tools consistently say the same thing. The Fera CSV import is well documented.
What merchants criticise: Reviews only, with no loyalty, referrals or memberships. Widget styling can clash with some themes and need minor CSS.
Switching from Fera: You lose nothing on core review collection and you stop paying. You gain no retention mechanic at all.

3. Loox: best for photo and video UGC
Loox – Product Reviews App on the Shopify App Store · 4.8-4.9 stars, 7,300 reviews

Loox is built for visual social proof, and its photo incentive flow pulls noticeably more UGC than a plain review request email. For fashion, beauty and home goods, where a real customer photo outperforms a studio shot, that’s a genuine conversion lever.
It also bundles a referral program from the Scale tier up, which gives it a small retention edge over the other reviews-only tools here.
Key features
- Photo and video collection with discounts offered for photo reviews
- 10+ widgets: carousels, grids, sidebars, pop-ups
- Referral program (Scale tier and above)
- Google Shopping, Meta Shops and Shop app syndication
- Review importer plus CSV import from Fera and others
- AI review sorting, highlights, translation and replies (Convert tier)
Loox plan | Price | Included |
Beginner | $12.99/mo | 100 review request emails, up to 500 orders, 10+ widgets, SEO. 7-day trial |
Scale | $39.99/mo | 300 orders + $40 per additional 300. Video reviews, Google Shopping, referrals, no branding |
Convert | $99.99/mo | 300 orders + $40 per additional 300. Full AI suite |
Unlimited | $299.99/mo | Unlimited requests, referrals and upsells |
No free plan. Note the overage model: Scale and Convert bill in 300-order blocks, so a “$40 plan” can become a $200 plan in a strong month.
What merchants praise: The visual output, consistently. Fashion and home goods merchants describe Loox carousels as a measurable product-page improvement.
What merchants criticise: No free plan, and 100 request emails on Beginner is restrictive as volume grows. The per-block overage pricing surprises people during Q4. No loyalty module at any tier.
Switching from Fera: Better photo and video UGC, plus referrals if you’re on Scale. But compare the caps honestly: Fera’s $9 plan covers 200 orders and Loox’s $12.99 plan covers 500, while Fera’s $29 plan covers 2,000 orders against Loox Scale’s 300 before overages. Loox is the better UGC tool; it is not automatically the cheaper one.

4. Okendo: best for depth of review data
Okendo: Reviews & Loyalty on the Shopify App Store · 4.8 stars, ~1,326 reviews · Built for Shopify

Okendo serves mid-market and enterprise Shopify brands that need more than a star rating. Attribute-based reviews let shoppers rate specific qualities (fit, material, delivery) as separate fields alongside the overall score.
It’s no longer reviews-only: the listing is now “Reviews & Loyalty,” and the platform bundles five connected products: Reviews, Loyalty, Surveys, Quizzes and Referrals. It also has something Fera doesn’t: a permanent free plan.
Key features
- Attribute-based reviews with per-product-type custom fields
- Post-purchase surveys, NPS, quizzes and community badges
- Loyalty and referrals as connected products in the same platform
- Google, TikTok Shop and Walmart syndication
- Headless support for Hydrogen, React and Vue, plus APIs and webhooks
- Bazaarvoice retail syndication (top tiers only)
Okendo plan | Price | Orders/mo | Unlocks |
Free | $0 | 50 | Review emails, smart form, review rewards, displays, Google SEO snippets |
Essential | $19/mo | 200 | Same features, higher cap |
Growth | $119/mo | 1,500 | AI review summaries, TikTok Shop, Q&A widget |
Power | $299/mo | 3,500 | Review campaigns, advanced CSS, email & SMS integrations (incl. Klaviyo) |
Advanced | $499/mo | 10,000 | Headless, syndication, API access |
14-day trial on paid plans.
What merchants praise: Attribute depth is the clearest differentiator. Larger support teams call out the Gorgias integration for routing review-driven tickets. The free tier is genuinely usable at very low volume.
What merchants criticise: Two hard gates. Essential at $19 is close to identical to the free plan; you’re mostly buying a higher order cap. And Klaviyo sync requires the $299 Power plan, which catches out a lot of stores that assumed it came standard. Overage credits are billed above your plan’s per-credit rate, so seasonal spikes hurt.
Switching from Fera: Real gains in data depth and a free tier to start on. But run the volume maths: Fera’s $99 plan covers up to 20,000 orders a month, where Okendo’s $299 Power plan covers 3,500 and you need the $499 Advanced plan to reach 10,000. If you’re high-volume and only need reviews, Okendo will cost you several times more than Fera.

5. Stamped: best for reviews plus loyalty in one dashboard
Stamped Reviews & Loyalty on the Shopify App Store → · 4.7 stars, ~3,625 reviews

Stamped has been in Shopify reviews long enough to have dependable collection automation and a solid Google Shopping integration. What separates it from pure review apps is that loyalty, referrals, NPS surveys and Q&A sit in the same platform.
Note that Stamped has restructured into three separately-priced products (Reviews, Loyalty and Lifecycle), each with its own Shopify listing and its own plans. Price the combination you actually need, not the headline.
Key features
- Photo and video reviews with email and SMS review requests
- Q&A module (stronger than Judge.me’s, by most accounts)
- NPS surveys
- Loyalty points, VIP tiers and referrals (Loyalty product)
- Post-purchase and win-back journeys (Lifecycle product)
- Google Shopping and rich snippets
- Klaviyo and Omnisend integrations
- Review import from Fera, Judge.me, Yotpo and others
Pricing: the listing shows from $23/month with no free plan . Beyond the entry tier, third-party sources disagree on both the tier names and where VIP tiers and referrals unlock (we’ve seen $59, $69 and $199 quoted for different products). ⚠ Check the listing and Stamped’s pricing page for your specific product mix before budgeting.
What merchants praise: Reviews, Q&A and loyalty under one vendor cuts app count. Google Shopping integration is described as reliable, and years in market mean plenty of third-party tutorials.
What merchants criticise: The all-in-one breadth is also the complaint: it does a lot, and some of it feels less focused than a dedicated tool. Several long-term merchants have reported review request emails silently failing. And splitting Reviews, Loyalty and Lifecycle into separate subscriptions works against the consolidation pitch.
Switching from Fera: You gain loyalty, referrals and NPS. You lose Fera’s free trial length and generous order caps, and you may end up paying for two or three Stamped products to match one Yuko or Okendo subscription.

6. Rivo: best for loyalty-first stores that also want reviews
Rivo: Loyalty Program, Rewards on the Shopify App Store → · 4.8 stars, ~1,370 reviews

Rivo is a loyalty platform first, and it shows in the right way for its core use case. The program is polished, VIP tier setup is fast, and the free plan covers up to 200 orders a month, four times Yuko’s free cap and Okendo’s.
Key features
- Loyalty points and VIP tiers on the free plan
- Memberships
- Shopify customer account extension
- Klaviyo and Postscript integrations (higher tiers)
- Review app integrations to reward customers for reviews (higher tiers)
Pricing : Free ($0) up to 200 orders/month . Rivo’s own site quotes paid plans from $49/month, scaling on order volume, up to a $499 enterprise tier; one third-party tracker shows a $15 tier, so confirm in-app.
Important correction to the usual claim: Rivo is listed under Loyalty and rewards, not Product reviews. Reviews are a separate Rivo product rather than part of this listing, and Rivo’s own documentation places referral program emails on the Scale and Plus plans. So “free referrals plus free reviews”, which our earlier version of this article claimed, overstates what the free plan gives you. Verify both before you build a plan around them.
What merchants praise: The 200-order free plan is the most generous here, and support responsiveness comes up by name constantly. VIP tier setup is described as fast.
What merchants criticise: Reviews are the weak side of the platform: fewer display options, less widget customisation than any dedicated review app in this list. And the jump from free to $49 with limited middle ground frustrates stores that just outgrow the cap.
Switching from Fera: This is a trade, not an upgrade. You gain loyalty, VIP tiers and memberships. You give up meaningful review functionality. If reviews are why you use Fera, Rivo alone won’t replace it.

Which Fera alternative fits your store
You’re getting reviews but not repeat purchases. Reviews prove the first sale; they don’t drive the second. Yuko ‘s points, VIP tiers and memberships close that loop, and a paid loyalty tier can sit on top of an existing subscription app without replacing your billing setup.
Your product sells on how it looks. Loox . The photo incentive flow lifts submission rates above standard requests, and the carousels are built for image-heavy catalogues. Strongest fit for fashion and apparel. Just model the per-block overage pricing at your real volume first.
Your AOV is high and shoppers deliberate. Okendo . Attribute reviews give high-consideration buyers the specifics they need (material, sizing, delivery) as separate fields. On a $400 product, one review-influenced sale covers months of subscription. Budget for the $299 Power plan if you need Klaviyo sync.
You’re high-volume and only need reviews. Stay on Fera, honestly. Nothing here matches 20,000 orders a month for $99. Add a separate loyalty app if you want retention.
Budget is the constraint. Four genuinely free routes, in order of how much volume they allow: Judge.me (uncapped, reviews only), Rivo (200 orders, loyalty only), Okendo (50 orders, reviews only), Yuko (50 orders, reviews and loyalty). Widest feature set, tightest cap: pick on which constraint bites first.
What to check before you switch from Fera
Move your review data first
Your review history is earned social proof. Losing it resets your product pages to zero and costs you conversions immediately.
- Confirm your new platform supports Fera CSV imports
- Verify star ratings and original review dates carry across
- Check that photo reviews are included in the export, not just the text
- Export before you uninstall Fera, not after
- On large migrations (roughly 1,000+ reviews), spot-check that photo attachments stayed linked to their parent reviews; detached images are the most common import failure
Judge.me, Yuko, Loox, Okendo and Stamped all accept Fera CSV imports. Under 1,000 reviews usually completes within an hour; allow two to three hours for a large catalogue.
Use Fera’s 60-day trial as your overlap window
Fera gives every plan a 60-day free trial, unusually long and longer than anything else in this comparison. If you’re mid-evaluation, that window is enough to run your new app in parallel, compare submission rates on the same traffic, and only then cancel.
Compare order caps, not sticker prices
This is where most switches go wrong. Fera’s caps are generous; several cheaper-looking apps are not.
- Map your actual monthly order volume against each plan’s cap before comparing prices
- Check the overage model: Loox bills in 300-order blocks, Okendo charges above-plan per-credit rates
- Confirm the features advertised at the entry price aren’t a tier up (Okendo’s Klaviyo sync is $299)
- Check whether loyalty or referrals are a separate subscription (Stamped, Okendo)
- Total your whole stack: reviews plus any loyalty, referral or membership app you’d still need
Yuko runs Free ($0, 50 orders/mo), Basic $12, Advanced $30 and Growth $199, with a permanent free plan and no trial cutoff.
Confirm you can leave again
- Export all reviews as CSV before uninstalling anything
- Screenshot your widget placements so you can rebuild the layout
- Export any customer data your current app holds
- Check the new platform offers clean export before you commit
Done paying for apps that don’t talk to each other?
Yuko’s free plan gets you started with no credit card.
Conclusion
Fera isn’t the problem; its scope is. It’s a well-rated reviews app with generous order caps that now starts at $9/month with no free tier, and no plan on the price list adds loyalty, VIP tiers, referrals or memberships.
So pick based on what’s missing from your stack. Judge.me sets the standard for reviews at zero cost. Loox wins on photo and video UGC. Okendo goes deepest on review data. Stamped covers reviews and loyalty under one vendor. Rivo has the most generous free loyalty plan. And if the gap you’re closing is repeat purchases rather than proof, Yuko puts reviews, loyalty, VIP tiers, referrals and memberships on one subscription.
Pre-switch checklist
- Export all Fera reviews as CSV before uninstalling
- Test the import on a staging store, not your live store
- Check your monthly order volume against the new plan’s cap
- Confirm widget placement on product, cart and account pages
- Set up post-purchase review request emails before going live
- If adding loyalty, configure at least one earning rule and one reward pre-launch
- Complete a full redemption as a real customer before you promote it
- Announce the program to existing customers; unannounced loyalty programs get no engagement
- Watch review submission rates for the first 30 days
Frequently asked questions
No. Fera’s Shopify listing starts at $9/month (Startup), with plans at $29, $99 and $199. Every plan includes a 60-day free trial, but there’s no permanent free tier. If a free plan is essential, Judge.me, Yuko, Okendo and Rivo all offer one.
It depends what you need. For reviews only, Judge.me : its free plan has no order cap and no review limit, which no one else here matches. For loyalty only, Rivo ‘s free plan covers up to 200 orders a month. For reviews plus loyalty in one app, Yuko ‘s free plan covers both up to 50 orders a month with no expiry. Okendo also has a free reviews tier at 50 orders.
Export your reviews as CSV from the Fera dashboard before uninstalling, then import into your new platform. Judge.me, Yuko, Loox, Okendo and Stamped all accept Fera CSVs. Export first, because data access can be restricted after an account closes. Full migration walkthrough .
Not in the usual sense. Fera can attach a reward (a discount, points or cashback) to a review request as an incentive. It has no points-earning rules for other actions, no VIP tiers, no referral engine and no memberships. For those you need a second app, or a platform like Yuko that includes them.
For most store sizes, yes, and for a wider scope. Yuko’s Basic plan is $12/month and includes reviews, loyalty and referrals. Fera’s comparable tier is $29/month for reviews and Q&A. Yuko’s $30 Advanced plan adds VIP tiers and memberships, which Fera doesn’t offer at $199. The exception is high order volume: Fera’s $99 tier covers up to 20,000 orders a month, so compare on your actual volume rather than the headline price.
Loox for pure visual UGC: the photo incentive system and carousels are the strongest here. Yuko if you also need loyalty and repeat-purchase mechanics alongside photo reviews.
Yuko Reviews works on WooCommerce for collection and display. Loyalty points, VIP tiers, referrals and memberships are Shopify-only.
